Terms of Service

Last updated October 31, 2026

These terms govern your use of Owlsort, a macOS app that tidies files.

License

A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable Owlsort license, unless the checkout page states a different type. The standard license can be activated on up to 3 Macs for the same user. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, rent, lease or offer Owlsort to others as a hosted service.

Trial and purchase

Owlsort includes a 14-day free trial with all features unlocked. The price, supported payment methods, taxes and checkout details are shown before you pay. After purchase you receive a license under the terms on this website and the checkout page.

File operations

Owlsort is built to be careful: it shows a preview first and records every run so it can be undone. It still moves real files when you confirm a tidy or enable background tidying. You are responsible for reviewing what it will do, keeping backups of important files and making sure the rules match what you intend.

macOS permissions

Some folders need macOS permissions such as Full Disk Access. Without them, some scans or tidies may be unavailable or incomplete.

Updates

Owlsort may provide updates for reliability, compatibility, security and new features. Some updates change interface details or supported functionality. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the updated behavior.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Owlsort in a way that breaks the law, infringes the rights of others, bypasses technical restrictions, or disrupts licensing, update, checkout or support systems.

Warranty disclaimer

Owlsort is digital software. To the fullest extent the law allows, it is provided without any promise of uninterrupted operation, freedom from errors or fitness for every workflow. Rights you have by law that cannot be waived are not limited.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Owlsort is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including data loss, lost profits or business interruption. Always keep independent backups of important files.
