Your files

Owlsort reads and moves files on your Mac only. File contents, names and paths are never uploaded, and no AI or cloud service analyses them.

Anonymous usage events

Owlsort sends a few anonymous milestone events (for example first launch, first tidy, trial expired). Each event holds the event name, the app version, the macOS major version, your language and a random install ID. It never holds file names, paths, rule contents or licence keys, and your IP address is not stored. You can switch this off at any time in Settings.

iCloud rule sync

If you turn it on, your rules are synced through your own iCloud account. Files are never synced.

Updates

The app checks owlsort.com for new versions. Update packages are signed and verified before installing.
